Thank you to everyone who supported me in this campaign to improve our local schools. While yesterday’s results weren’t what we hoped for, I am incredibly proud of all that we accomplished together. We built a movement focused on strengthening our schools, our communities, and creating a better future for all of our children.

The feedback I received from the thousands of doors I knocked on was inspiring, even if the results didn’t reflect it.

To my team, volunteers, donors, supporters and voters—thank you for your belief in this vision. While I won’t be joining the School Board, I will continue to fight for the changes our schools and neighborhoods need. Let’s keep pushing for a better future for our students and our community. This journey is far from over, and together, we’ll continue to make a difference.

Now, I’m going to take much-needed break, but I’ll be back and ready to keep working for the change we all want to see in Miami-Dade County.

Had such an amazing morning yesterday at in South Miami! ☕️ Besides enjoying some delicious cafecitos and pastelitos, I got to meet the incomparable Ileana , a true trailblazer! She was the first Hispanic woman ever elected to Congress, and the first Cuban-American, among many other firsts! As a fellow educator, Jewban, and now candidate for office, her life and career have been an inspiration to me and to countless others in our community. 🇨🇺

It was also a pleasure to hear from Madeline Pumariega, the first female President of , and Dr. Bryan Stewart (), the new President of . I look forward to working with both of you to deliver on the promise of education for our community! 🎓📚

Throwback to the days of chalk dust and laughter in the classroom. Being a teacher was not just a job for me, it was a new found passion that became my entire life. Today, let’s celebrate all the educators who have dedicated their lives to teaching our children and molding our future. Happy World Teachers’ Day! 👩‍🏫🍎📚
