“School is a place of safety.”

That is something we say often, but today, I needed to explain what it truly means.

This video is spoken as a teacher, not a pundit.
As someone who works with children Liam’s age every day.
As someone who knows what regulation, routine, and care look like for young bodies and minds.

Detention facilities are not designed for children.
And the evidence is clear: prolonged detention harms them.

Children should be processed quickly into safe home…not held in freezer-like cells.

Not Liam.
Not any child.
