As daylight faded, the celebration moved beneath the Ancient Spanish monastery's stone cloisters.
With their graceful arches and centuries-old architecture, these covered walkways were originally designed as places of quiet reflection. Today, they frame one of South Florida's most unforgettable wedding settings.
Long tables, candlelight, lush florals, and thoughtful details transformed the courtyard into an intimate dinner under the stars—a place where history and celebration meet effortlessly.
There are venues you visit, and there are venues you remember.

Some places have a way of slowing time.
The Ancient Spanish Monastery began its life in Segovia, Spain in 1133, where Cistercian monks lived for nearly seven centuries. In 1925, the monastery was dismantled, stone by stone, packed into more than 11,000 wooden crates, and shipped across the Atlantic. After spending 26 years in storage, it was finally rebuilt in South Florida.
By late afternoon, the cloisters give way to a garden filled with towering oaks, tropical palms, and warm golden light. It is one of those rare settings where a cocktail hour seems to unfold naturally.
For this celebration, guests gathered for cocktails beneath the oaks. Signature drinks, generous Mediterranean-inspired displays, and hand-passed bites invited everyone to slow down and savor the moment.
A setting with nearly 900 years of history deserves a celebration just as memorable.

Close up, it’s all in the contrast: a glass-like crunch, a little mala heat, something creamy, something smoky, something bright to finish. Small bites, not simple ones.
At a cocktail hour, a bite may be the whole culinary moment. At a dinner, it is the first chapter. Either way, hors d’oeuvres have a way of saying something before anything is said — about taste, heritage, mood, and the kind of experience guests are stepping into.
