Art Education Program MDCPS

This New Teacher Visual Arts support visit at Redondo Elementary School with Mr. Sanchez was full of creativity and strong student engagement. Students learned about artist Romare Bearden and explored how he used collage to tell stories about city life and community. Inspired by his work, they created vibrant cityscape collages using layered shapes, color, and thoughtful composition.

It was wonderful to see students making connections between art history and their own creative voices while building confidence with collage techniques.
