Maddog Cosplay

Hello! It's me again. The cosplayer that barely posts on her page anymore. Haven't been up to whole lot this past year (just typically life stuff always going on) but I did want to share some photos from Florida Supercon

I made Fionna in her Cake Overalls from the Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake spinoff on HBO Max.

I'm so happy with how this costume came out. It was my first time making overalls, first time making a jacket and first time adding pockets (I've always been too afraid to try)! It's not perfect but I learned a lot. Plus it's cute and fun to wear.

This past summer marked ten years since I started cosplaying and going to conventions.

My first ever convention was Metrocon 2013. Back then, I only vaguely knew what cosplay was or what conventions were like but it sounded like fun. Turned out to be an amazing experience. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and complimented my first attempt at cosplaying.

After Metrocon I was hooked. I attended as many conventions I could, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends, and mostly in closet cosplays. After a year or two I decided to challenge myself more and started to learn how make my own costumes. It was simple stuff but it was fun. It felt great learning a new skills like sewing and wig styling.

It wasn't until I met my friend MonsterMoth Props that I really started to push myself in what I made. Whether it was updating older costumes of mine or trying foam for the first time. I really wanted to grow and expand on my skills. Even started to collaborate my friend and enter in contests.

Cosplay has become such an important part of my life. It may just be a hobby for me, but a hobby that has allowed me to grow both in my personal life and even in my work life. I have met so many wonderful people from all over who have been so kind and encouraging. While some people have come and gone a few have grown to become great friends.

I love cosplaying. I want to keep making costumes and dressing up for another ten years! I may take breaks when "real" life gets a little too much but I will always look forward to the days I get to go to conventions, see friends, and wear something cool that will eventually start to hurt after a few hours. 😄
