Biscayne National Park is excited to host our February Park After Dark event on Saturday, February 21. This month we focus on the rich cultural history of this park and region. Biscayne National Park is known for its crystal-clear blue water and beautiful sunsets but hidden below the waves and on the remote islands, amazing stories and cultural histories await discovery.

The evening will feature Josh Marano, South Florida Park Archeologist, along with interpretive park rangers who will share these stories of Biscayne. Connect to the 10,000-year-old culture of fishing through hands-on fishing clinics with gear and bait provided, paddle the mangroves and learn about the Tequesta people, and learn about maritime history and celestial navigation by studying constellations and stargazing: BYOT- Bring your own telescopes! You can also add your personal story to the cultural history of your park by gathering around the fire and enjoying s'mores and good company.
Sunset paddle registration required: Must have experience. Participants must be 11+ years of age and must be accompanied by an adult if they are under 18. Outdoor activities are weather dependent.
To reserve for the sunset paddle or if you have any questions, please call the Dante Fascell Visitor Center at (305) 230-1144, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Park After Dark is a free program available to the public made possible in part by The Alliance for Florida National Parks.
