Interesting case: Anxious 15 year old came in with severe pain for past few days and visited her primary dentist and was told very thing was fine and to come back in 2 weeks but mom knew something was not right. No cavity or discoloration seen on the tooth. Radiograph showed shadow at apex (tip of the root) and after vitality tests, the tooth was confirmed to be necrotic (dead). 2 visit root canal was performed after extensive pus came out through the tooth after opening the canal. Patient is doing very well. And no longer anxious. 😁

As of May 29,2025, Miami-Dade County will no longer add fluoride to our drinking water. Other methods of receiving fluoride include fluorinated toothpaste (not all contain fluoride), commercially bought water with fluoride, fluoride rinses for example ACT or Listerine Total Care Mouthwash, topically applied gels or foam at your dental office, and certain foods.
