My 8-year-old dachshund is currently fighting for her life in the ICU.

Just weeks ago she was happy, playful, and by my side every day. Then she suddenly became sick. What started as loss of appetite quickly progressed to severe diarrhea, abdominal swelling, weakness, anemia, internal fluid accumulation, and critically abnormal blood work.

She is now hospitalized in intensive care undergoing ultrasound, biopsy, and other testing as veterinarians work to determine the cause of her condition and whether it can be treated.

I am facing this completely alone and have already exhausted my available funds trying to save her. The cost of ICU care, diagnostics, procedures, medications, and ongoing treatment is expected to exceed $8,000.

She is not just a pet. She is my best friend, my companion, and a member of my family. I am asking for help to give her every possible chance to survive.
