Yesterday, we went to the City of Miami and had the opportunity to speak with Commissioner Christine King, who voted against the 287(g) agreement with ICE.

This agreement is already being implemented and poses a direct threat to our immigrant communities because it allows local police to collaborate with ICE and increases fear in our neighborhoods.

Now the responsibility lies with Mayor Eileen Higgins, who promised to end this agreement. We need her to place it on the agenda and follow through on that commitment.

We will continue organizing and advocating to ensure Miami is a city where all families can live without fear.
