Events Coordinator
Miami, FL

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Manages the strategy and planning of meetings and special events for an organization.
Plans, coordinates, and improves special events designed for a company in order to attract and retain customers.
Coordinates all amenities and accommodations at the event.
Monitors and controls event budgets and negotiates all necessary contracts.
Negotiates contracts and obtains competitive bids from vendors to ensure the lowest bid with the highest quality of service and products.
Supervises and evaluates special events staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Strong project management, team building and interpersonal communications skills
· Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
·A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
·Experience in large matrix organization, agency or global firm a plus
· Creative thinker with solid marketing and communications experience
· Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.
· Limited travel as needed.
·This role receives limited supervision must be able to work independently within their area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in area of specialty
· A minimum of 5-8 years of Event Management with some marketing experience; technology and consumer electronics industry experience highly preferred
· Proven event management skills and ability to handle large portfolio of technical content driven events.
·Strong project management, team building and interpersonal communications skills
