About 7 years ago, I kickstarted AFR Photography with a photo shoot of my young niece.

My mom and sister helped me deck out a barren wreath with a concoction of florals and moss to serve as a headpiece. That shoot marked my first official solo photography project.

Fast forward a few years later, and we find ourselves recreating that same photo shoot (with the exact same headpiece) to celebrate my niece’s upcoming fifteenth birthday. A lot has happened in the last seven years: not only has my style evolved, but my niece has grown into such a fierce and compassionate young woman; and I hope that these photos emulate those qualities

I taught the play “The Crucible” about seven years ago to an amazing group of Juniors. Despite the loaded historical context, students loved the heavy drama and intrigue of the play. It is a story that continues to be taught and performed in high schools all across America.

Now, it’s exciting to see the students and teachers produce their rendition.

Once again, during the shoot, I was astonished at the professionalism on display from all parties involved: the actors, the crew, and staff. I’m looking forward to sharing this new series with you… the first photo series to kick off the 2022 MAS line-up.

I had the opportunity to photograph the very talented theater students at my school to commemorate their rendition of Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451." Let's just say it was a very fun shoot.

I do not usually incorporate textures into my photos, but they were essential here, adding a charred and brittle aesthetic that ultimately provides clues to the profound themes in the story.

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph my close friend's daughter. This young lady is the absolute embodiment of character and integrity. I wish her the best as she concludes her senior year and embarks on her new adventure.
