STRETCHING
In its most basic form stretching is used to relax and loosen muscle fibers to return natural elasticity to the area. The optimal time to stretch is after a workout or training session. Post-workout your body is in an inflamed and contracted state. Stretching will assist in returning your body to a relaxed state where efficient recovery can take place. Post-workout stretching is known to assist in DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), which will get you back to your next intense training session ready to perform at a high level. One effect that people tend to overlook is the stress relief. When your body is tight, contracted, and sore there is a higher chance of irritability and discomfort due to the release of adrenal hormones, which increases stress levels in general and makes you feel like . Stretching will relax the body and release endorphins to combat the natural stress response of the body after intense physical activity leaving you feeling strong and fully capable of taking on the next activity.
