If you haven’t watched the movie “Hidden Figures” please do! This extraordinary woman — Katherine Johnson, along with her team including Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson — helped astronaut John Glenn go into space! Because of Johnson’s hand-written calculations, astronauts were able to go to the moon.

Known as a human computer, Johnson had a genius IQ of 162. She died on February 24, 2020 at the age of 101!

One thing Johnson did to keep her mind active throughout her life was to “learn something new every day,”* an advice her dad gave her when she was a child.
