This is no surprise, the misinterpretation of "test-optional" is taking place right now. Do not be misled!

Opinion | Colleges won’t suddenly become more inclusive and accessible without the SAT Many test-optional colleges still use standardized scores as a key consideration for admissions and financial aid behind the scenes.

TEST OPTIONAL STUDENTS! If you submitted your applications under the assumption that SAT/ACT scores were not needed, and you didn't get in or were deferred, please know that you have options. Everyone will know their admission status by April 15, so email me for info if you didn't get accepted, got asked to submit a test score, or did not add anything to your common app: [email protected]

Remember that test-optional is really creating a much more extensive review of your application and academic rigor. The students getting accepted may have submitted scores, it is still a valid indicator of your ability to succeed in college, especially in the more competitive programs.
