Healthy Fats

Nuts & seeds are a rich source of proteins and essential amino acids and bioactive compounds with recognized health benefits, such as tocopherols, vitamins, and phenolic compounds.

There is evidence that nuts & seeds have been a staple in the human diet for since the beginnings of history. The oldest walnut remains were discovered in Iraq, and they are believed to be from 50,000 B.C. The Greeks and Romans were fond of the walnut, and they were considered food for Gods by early Romans.

Nuts and seeds are extremely nutrient-dense and filled with fatty acids. Nuts & seeds provide generous amounts of calories, fats, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Trace minerals like magnesium, zinc, selenium, and copper are also abundant.

Fat is actually really healthy for the brain and body, it helps give your body energy, protects your organs, supports cell growth, keeps cholesterol and blood pressure under control, and helps your body absorb vital nutrients. When you focus too much on cutting out all fat, you can actually deprive your body of what it needs most to be healthy.

Here are some great plant-based fats, avocado, olives, (olive oil), walnuts, cashews, pecans, flax, chia, pumpkin, sunflower seeds, and cacao.

Bone is one of the strongest materials found in nature. Ounce for ounce, bone is stronger than steel since a bar of steel of comparable size would weigh four or five times as much.

Researchers discovered that the arms and legs of recent modern humans are lightly built compared to modern humans from before the Holocene Epoch, which began about 12,000 years ago. Rather than shifting gradually over time, bone density remained high throughout the history of modern human evolution, until the Neolithic revolution when bone density decreased dramatically.

In other words, modern human skeletons have a substantially lower density in joints throughout the skeleton than compared to their predecessors, which suggests that this change may have been linked to a reduction in activity, and food habits due to a shift from a hunting and foraging lifestyle, to a sedentary one.
