Lupus is more than “just being tired.” It’s a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, heart, lungs, and many other parts of the body. Millions battle lupus every day — often silently.

• Lupus causes the immune system to attack healthy tissues and organs
• 9 out of 10 people with lupus are women
• Lupus disproportionately affects Black women, often more severely
• Symptoms can include fatigue, joint pain, hair loss, rashes, brain fog, and inflammation
• There is currently no cure, but early diagnosis and treatment can help manage symptoms
• Lupus is often called an “invisible illness” because many symptoms aren’t seen from the outside
