We are thrilled to congratulate our newest DAISY Award recipient, Louie! Louie was nominated for this award by a patient who shared:

“When I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in December 2024, one of the first phone calls I received was from nurse Louise White, a.k.a. Louie. She told me that I was going to have a meeting with a breast surgeon, and the good news was that I was going to feel a lot better after the meeting than I did before.

I honestly didn’t believe her, but she was absolutely right, and that set the tone for my wonderfully positive experience at Middlesex Health.

Louie made me feel like everything was going to be OK, and indeed it was. She has helped me with scheduling. She has helped me by connecting me to people who can provide grants. She supported me as I searched for the right spinal surgery team. And she’s always there with a hug, a smile, and something to feel good about.

She is everywhere at once, and clearly everyone loves her just as much as I do—and I know I’m not her only patient! Yet somehow, she makes me feel like I am her only concern.

I am forever grateful to Louie. She has made all the difference in the success of my treatment and healing from cancer. She seems to be an endless source of support and care, and this woman deserves to be recognized for her incredible work. She is a gift to our community, and I am so very grateful for her.”
