I’m old school AF. I don’t buy in to the modern trends of fitness, bjj, or this whole influencer thing. I get it……..everyone wants a niche. But with 25 years under the bar, 20 of those as a certified coach, 20 years on the mat competing, 13 years and 23 confirmed MMA fights, the last 5 years dialing that in as a experienced fitness and nutrition coach for grapplers…….I found my niche. And I’m tired of seeing dumb s**t in my sport. We don’t need weighted shrimps, weighted get ups, yoga animal animal moves, or any goofy ass lift that mimics a grappling technique. I don’t try to change fitness or make up a bunch of sport specific drills to fit BJJ. BJJ has one thing that’s made the most effective fighting system since it’s origin……….it’s called technique. Get in the gym and conquer the basics. Get strong with squat, press, and deadlift. Get fast with jumps, cleans, and sled/hill sprints, get endurance by putting in the morning cardio. And stop treating your mouth like a garbage can. That’s it!!!! New bands came in today!!! And no!!!!! They ain’t for helping with pull-ups!!! Been a accommodated resistance fan since the beginning. One of my goals for is to put a seminar series together. Seminars are huge learning opportunities in the BJJ community, and I believe I can replicate this with strength and conditioning within the BJJ community. As grapplers, What type of cardio we need, how much strength should we have, how to balance skill, strength, and conditioning work with mat time, how to eat, what to eat, when to eat it………..lots of options to look at. What would you all want to see out of a seminar, throw some ideas in the comments and if your gym or team is interested in leveling up your BJJ game outside the mats Hit me up!!!!!!!!!
