JOY in the NICU- Our Story

We are a local non-profit organization who partner with all members of families where there are children with special needs, supporting their efforts to establish and maintain strong successful families.

Having a baby in the NICU is not the easiest experience and the possible outcomes are often frightening. Many of the SHARE representatives and volunteers have had premature and NICU babies themselves and can empathize with what these families are going through.

We offer support in many ways. We go to each NICU department here in the Permian Basin and offer up a goody bag which has various snacks and refreshments that we think will benefit these families that really do not have time to leave their babies and grab a bit to eat.

Along with the goody bags we offer up scrapbooking to give the parents a chance to sit and talk with other partents while putting together a little scrapbook for their babies.
