* * * POPTAP TOPS $50,000 IN DONATIONS TO THE VCU MASSEY CANCER CENTER * * *

Good Morning,
We had a wonderful day this past Monday. Brian and I met with Dr. Mark Malkin, Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program and Ocelia Hudson, Donor Engagement Coordinator from the VCU Massey Cancer Center to make a gift of $23,000. This boosted our 4 year total to more than $50,000 in total contributions in support of Massey's Brain Tumor Research programs. As Dr. Malkin mentioned to us, "rest assured we will use these funds in the most responsible way".
Personally, this is always a tiny bit emotional for me. Nearly 9 years ago I was extremely fortunate when diagnosed with a brain tumor that was treated successfully. This year several folks that we have touched based with weren't as fortunate as me. The sharing of positive messages can mean so much to others and give them the inspirational lift they may need to face their personal challenges. It's more apparent how important our POPTAP fundraising efforts have become in helping to discover more effective ways to treat those diagnosed with brain tumors.

I thank you for your generosity and you should feel proud to be a part of this gift. Once again, thank you so very much and have a happy, safe, and healthy Christmas and New Year. We are looking forward to a successful 2017.

Its official and we are very excited POPTAP a 501(c)(3) nonprofit will be hosting the 3rd annual POPTAP Charity Golf Tournament on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Salisbury CC. Proceeds will benefit the VCU Massey Cancer Center.
