Fertile Ground Movement, LLC

An integrative wellness practice using movement to flourish. Fertile Ground Massage LLC is located in Midlothian, Va.

All of the ridiculous formula misinformation coming out of the MAHA movement and this administration is directly tied to blaming mothers for personal failure while distracting from the structural barriers they refuse to fix.

Also, we didn’t even talk about how this was at an airport to enhance travel accommodations.

We have decades of data showing enormous socioeconomic disparities in breastfeeding rates. The biggest barriers are structural, and include limited or no paid family leave; inflexible, low-wage jobs; inadequate workplace pumping accommodations; inconsistent or nonexistent lactation support; limited access to high-quality prenatal and postpartum care; and racial and income-based inequities in hospital practices and community resources. These are the factors that determine who is actually able to breastfeed and for how long.

A breastfeeding/pumping pod in an airport, while nice, does not address any of this. It is, however, a perfect snapshot of how MAHA and this administration approach everything. They prioritize individual, boutique solutions that mainly benefit higher-income families, while ignoring the structural conditions that shape health for everyone else.

As I assisted women for many years to become pregnant and cared for infants with infant massage, this reminds me how far we have come, yet with our current administration, infant care is being set back generations.

You are not your own public health administration, and you shouldn’t have to be.

We make personal choices within systems. And public health is about the systems and conditions that shape those choices long before we make them. 06/24/2025

In my mother’s early career, she was a public health nurse.

This is Project 2025 destroying decades of public health gains for Americans. The rich want to destroy the poor, the weak, the aged, and the fighters who are not sheep.
