The countdown is on! Passages starts in just one week, and we couldn't be more excited! We can’t wait to welcome both new campers and familiar faces back for another incredible summer of adventure.

Day 2 of All Staff Training! This weekend has been a HUGE success and it’s all thanks to our incredible staff! Our kayakers went on their first of many river trips this season and we cannot wait for camp to officially start! 🌊🏞️🦦

At Passages, we love to “grow our own” staff. Many of our staff started their journeys here as campers, and years later, they’re back to share that same sense of adventure, confidence, and community with the next generation.

Camp is right around the corner, and we are so excited for another incredible summer to begin! ☀️

Staff Spotlight: Gordon! 🛶

Meet Gordon, one of our incredible Site Directors for Rock & River Kayak and Advanced Kayak, and a staff member at our new Wilderness Survival Skills camp this summer! Gordon is a student at VCU and an exceptionally skilled kayaker who brings years of experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to every program he leads.

At Passages, we are proud of how experienced and capable our staff is. Leaders like Gordon help campers build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve success in whatever way that looks for them—whether it’s mastering a kayak skill, trying something new, or stepping outside their comfort zone.

Fun fact: Gordon can juggle for more than five minutes straight!

We are so excited for summer to begin and can’t wait for campers to learn from Gordon out on the James River this season!

Throwback Thursday (Director Edition)!!

Our Camp Director, Arden, Assistant Director, OG, and Wrangler, Sam, all started their Passages journeys as campers. At Passages, we love to “grow our own” staff—because the best leaders are the ones who know firsthand how special camp can be.

They have spent years growing up together at camp, and their hearts have always been here. Now, they are so excited to help create the same adventures, friendships, and unforgettable memories for this summer’s campers.
