Whoa! That was a crazy holiday leading up to our New Year Celebrations, but THIS incredible Little City Farms dream home now belongs to my lovely clients! This gorgeous home just finished a major expansion and renovation and we managed to be the first ones in to see it one day short of plans to list it on the market. Luckily my clients were prepared for this moment. They were underwritten on their loan, had studied the market with me for months, and knew it was time to jump and they did! We were in contract before they had time to begin marketing it!

What an honor to represent this architectural award winning Emmons House, a piece of living art, and a historic piece of Mill Valley history.

260 Cleveland is an Emmons, Wurtser, Bernardi home, designed by Donn Emmons with landscapes by Lawrence Halprin. Awarded the American Institute of Architects Award in 1953, and notably published over its history. Emmons and Halprin, most well known for their extraordinary contribution to Architectural excellence and Mill Valley history in their design of the Mill Valley Public Library. When these homes come up for sale, it’s an emotional offering that can defy market conditions. Luckily for us, through word of mouth, I found that this home was being prepped for market. My dear clients had recently come to me with a wish for a home that was unique and felt architecturally inspiring. My treasure hunt was complete, this was it, and a rare opportunity they jumped on before anyone else even had the chance to get in the door.

Wow, I’m still pinching myself. We’ve been pouring into past articles and awards for this home, as seen in Dwell Magazine and historical files. The intent of the architects is felt so vividly in every sense. What an experience to spend time in such a thoughtful space where the landscape extends into the bay and sky as if they’re as connected as the wood on the walls. Wishing my clients, Connor and Tahirih, a life of inspiration in their new home. I couldn’t have picked better stewards for such a iconic home. They will no doubt thoughtfully nurture this legacy with intention to allow their stewardship to be an ode to the creativity, art, and vision of its history. I’m beyond thrilled for them, honored to have played a part in this sale, and excited to be welcoming them to my neighborhood!
