I LOVE THIS ANALOGY:

You’re holding a cup of coffee when someone accidentally bumps into you or shakes your arm, causing coffee to spill everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

Most people would answer, “Because someone bumped into me.”

That’s only part of the story.

You spilled coffee because coffee was what filled your cup. If your cup had been filled with tea, you would have spilled tea instead.

The same is true of our lives.

When life shakes us—and it will—whatever fills our hearts is what will spill out. It’s easy to appear patient, joyful, or kind when everything is going well. But pressure has a way of revealing what was there all along.

So the real question is:

What’s in your cup?

When life gets hard, what overflows?

Is it joy, gratitude, peace, humility, and trust in God?

Or is it anger, bitterness, resentment, self-pity, fear, and the urge to give up?

We don’t always get to choose what happens to us, but we can choose what we allow to fill our hearts each day.

Today, let’s ask God to fill our cups with His presence—with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, truth, resilience, kindness, gentleness, and love.

Then, when life shakes us, what spills out will reflect the One who fills us. 🤍🙏🏻

In the same way, God’s Word may not seem to change us after a single day. But every verse read, every truth meditated on, and every moment spent in His presence is shaping our hearts.

The hardest hearts aren’t transformed by one emotional moment, they’re softened by daily encounters with the living Word of God.

Don’t underestimate today’s reading. What feels like a small drop of obedience may become a lifetime of transformation. 🤍🙏🏻
