If there was ever a moment to quit, Acts 5 would be it. The apostles are arrested, miraculously released, arrested again, threatened, flogged, and publicly shamed. Yet Luke writes, “Day after day… they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.”
Following Jesus doesn’t come naturally. Obedience doesn’t. Speaking up when the world says “be quiet” doesn’t. Suffering with joy certainly doesn’t. Staying faithful over decades doesn’t. That’s why Jesus didn’t just give us a mission; He gave us His Spirit.
If you’re tired, distracted, or drifting, you’re not alone. Where do you need the Holy Spirit’s power right now: to obey, to speak, to suffer with joy, or to remain faithful day after day?
