I remember after I finished Fresh Traditions this past October, Lilly came to me and asked me to make her self design outfit for the Miss Grand Hmong pageant that she was going to run in. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I could not help her. When she won, I told her I would love to make her victory party dress!

Although we couldn’t make it to your party, you looked amazing and we are happy to be a little part of your journey this year!

🌹The Bloom in Red Collection: Model Spotlight

Introducing our tenth model, Sammiiee! Here’s what she had to say:

“Hi 👋🏻 there! Sammiiee Moua here. My modeling journey began in 2015 when my cousin asked me to model for her at the Madison New Year, Designer Competition. That’s where it all started.

After my first experience, I found myself missing the stage since I grew up performing as a traditional Hmong dancer with my sisters. So I eventually taught myself how to improve my walk and poses by watching a ton of YouTube videos! I did end up taking a break for a year or two. During that time, I felt like I was losing my sense of identity, so I picked up modeling again. It keeps me on my toes and helps me stay connected to myself. It's something that defines me as a person, beyond being a mother and a wife.

Now, I’m back again for Fresh Traditions. A big thank you to designer Shoua Xiong for the opportunity to walk again for her line and for believing in me to showcase her wonderful garments. If you missed out last year, you definitely do not want to miss out this year.

Fun fact: My husband and I are the owners of Poj Ntxoog (Scary Good, Beef Jerky & Hot Sauce) 😉.”

Introducing our eighth model, Lily! Here’s what she had to say:

“Hello! My name is Lily Xiong Vazquez and this will be my first time walking for Shoua Xiong Designs! I’m so grateful for this opportunity and am so excited, i’ve only walked two previous fashion shows so this will be the third in counting. Modeling was never something I thought I would be so interested in but it’s now something I love to do! I can’t wait to see everyone and to walk with a beautiful outfit, this definitely heals my inner child being able to live a dream.

A fun fact about me is that I like to do puzzles and to solve things that take time!

I’m looking foward to seeing everyone 🩷.”
