Nevada Landworks / Smith Valley School April Athlete of the Month is: Seth Rigsby - Varsity Track and Field

The athlete of the month for Track and field goes to Seth Rigsby, who continues to push himself at every practice and willingly helps his peers to improve as well. Track is a passion of his, as was demonstrated when he attended a special camp last summer to help him improve on his skills, which has helped him achieve the number 1 rating in pole vault for the entire year. He is not just a one event athlete either; in addition to pole vault, he runs the 100 meter dash, 4x400 relay, and is the anchor for the 4x100 relay.

Lady Bulldog’s March Athlete of the Month is: Gracie Lewis - Varsity Track and Field

The individual I’ve selected to honor is “testing out track” this year and would be considered a rookie. Even though I’ve had multiple students set personal records at track meets throughout this season, I’ve never had one individual set FOUR personal records at the same meet on the same day in all my years coaching. It is for that outstanding performance, and for her desire to improve every day that I’ve chosen Gracie Lewis as the track athlete of the month.
