Wallpaper: Love 😍 or Hate 😬, It's Having a Moment

Remember your grandparents' house? All the furniture in its place (maybe even with plastic covers on it!), fresh vacuum lines on the plush carpet, and wallpaper everywhere!

Removing wallpaper is right up there with stripping paint (we'll discuss another time) as a most loathed activity. The last thing you ever want to do after removing wallpaper is to put more up!

But now, wallpaper is back, thanks to insty peel-and-stick options at online shops like Spoonflower and Walls Need Love. Now absolutely anyone can add some flair to their place- even you, renters! (Tip, don't put it over existing paper wallpaper or it will NOT come off nicely. Looking at you, my lovely tenant. 😬)

Used in small doses, wallpaper can add energy or calm to a room. It can add depth, sophistication, or playfulness- depends on what you're going for.

We've used it a lot in bathrooms- a great low-risk, high-return spot is a half bath. It's small, it's what guests will see, give it some personality!

Regardless of how or where you use wallpaper, remember that it's in your design toolkit. Peel-and-stick or wallpaper for the ages, take a chance. Paint shouldn't have to do all the work.

I just looked at the weather forecast, and it's supposed to be in the 70s this weekend! From where I'm sitting now, that seems like a stretch, but hey, mid-April cookout, I'll take it!
