Earlier this month, our policy team joined the League of Conservation Voters in Washington, D.C. as part of their national week on the Hill and met with five congressional offices, including Representative Kelly Morrison—all in the name of building strong federal support for the important work our states do to protect our environment.

"Urban lakes are noticeably cleaner than they used to be. About 80% of the lakes removed from the state’s impaired water database in the past 20 years are in urban areas. It really shows the power of governance, attention and action."

How’s the water? Researchers try to gauge public perception of Twin Cities lakes. Researchers from the University of Minnesota and St. Thomas are studying water quality at Twin Cities lakes and asking for public input.
