Big news for our community! 🎉

Congratulations to Dr. Serena Xiong, PhD, MPH, PHDR Faculty and FMCH Assistant Professor, and her Co-Investigator, Dr. Jim Hougas III, MD, FMCH Associate Professor, for being awarded a $40,000 Community Action Research Grant from the Center for Urban & Regional Affairs - CURA.

Their upcoming study will explore how Operation Metro Surge has shaped primary care across M Health Fairview clinics—focusing on how care teams adapted to stay accessible, supportive, and consistent, especially for immigrant and refugee patients.

We’re excited to see how this work helps strengthen care and community resilience. 💛
