More than 400 community members, advocates, partners, and supporters joined us yesterday morning for Aeon’s Beyond Bricks & Mortar breakfast - and together, raised more than $400,000 to support affordable housing across Minnesota.

The morning was a powerful reminder that safe, stable housing changes lives. Guests heard inspiring stories, reflected on the growing need for affordable homes, and celebrated the momentum being built through community partnership.

“As we celebrate 40 years of Aeon, we also look ahead to the next 40. What will this organization become? I believe the answer lies in continuing to do what Aeon has always done best: staying grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home.”
~ Rachel Robinson, Aeon President & CEO

To everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, and supported this event: thank you for helping create and preserve homes where people and communities can thrive.

We’re celebrating an incredible milestone for someone who helped shape one of our most meaningful conversations last year.

Journalist and anthropologist Brian Goldstone has been awarded the 2026 Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction for his powerful book There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America.

At Aeon’s 2025 Beyond Bricks & Mortar event, Brian brought this work to life, sharing the real stories behind a growing crisis: the rise of the “working homeless.” His reporting follows families who work full-time yet still struggle to find stable housing, revealing how rising rents, low wages, and systemic barriers are reshaping what homelessness looks like in America.

His words challenged us- and continue to challenge us- to think differently about housing, stability, and what it truly means to have a place to call home.

We’re honored to have had Brian as part of our community, and we celebrate this well-deserved recognition of work that is both urgent and deeply human.
