HAIRCUTS, JAZZ RECORDS, PEOPLE, MANY PLACES & MANY THINGS.

I can’t remember the last time I shared a bunch of random photos and activities of my life but I think I might do that a bit more often to shake things up. Enjoy.

Sometimes it’s a movie, a concert, a haircut, a new record or a jazz documentary or people that inspire(d) me. No matter what though the energy is good over here. ✨✌🏾

BLACK & GOLD GENETICS.

I had the opportunity to visit the GIANTS exhibit with a close, longtime friend at for our birthdays and it was special. From the layout all the way down to the typeface of the exhibit logo I was feeling it… 1000%.

Projects of this kind alway remind me this thing of OURS cannot be f***** with, especially in its purest state. The collection of photographs, sculptures and paintings The Deans (Alicia & Swizz) have on display tell a true story. And if you didn’t know, we got something nobody else has.

The God given genius and variety of melanated expression and representation that I saw was flawless. So, to all my people, do yourself a solid and check it out. I loved it so much I’ma go back for seconds. ✨✌🏾

YOUNG, BLACK & GIFTED. Even in high school I was lowkey.

This is back when everything I wore was two sizes too big, I shopped at Bloomingdales almost every other Friday w/ to cop the newest Roc, Sean John or Akademiks drop.

White Air Force Ones weren’t easy to get, tall tees and 5 for 20’s were cracking at Footaction, Champs and Foot Locker. This is back when The Source, XXL, Murder Dog and Vibe Magazine were the Bibles of Hip-Hop and commercial rap.

Also, I practically lived in Target, Cheapo, Best Buy, Electric Fetus and Sam Goody to find the latest and greatest rap releases on CD. I started writing and freestyling during this time and I was heavily inspired both by the underground NYC mixtape rush and the freestyle battle era. What a time that was to be alive and at any point someone was ready to rap or already rapping.

You just had to be there. ✨✌🏾
