Hello Citizens Alley! Newest coolest most hippest most nicest place to be in Minot - everyone waves hello under the twinkle lights. It’s nice.
So excited to be a part of this new creative hub nested in the heart of downtown. Food trucks, pickleball, b-ball, live music, trains, art, cozy green space for eating snacks, movie nights, splash pad, skywalk and just good vibes all around.
I was asked to illustrate the entryway to the space - a welcoming 100 ft of what I thought a Thursday night might look like in the alley - and I couldn’t help but smile creating this thing. Lots of cool bebopp’n citizens - and dogs and cats - having a good time. Felt like home.
Shoutout to - - and everyone who made this project come to life. This is a very special thing that was just made for us here in Minot. Very grateful.
Oh yeah - Thursday, August 28th - 5:30- 7:30 - they are having a “meet the artists” night showcasing all the murals and artwork that was created for the space. So come down and chat me up - buy some new prints - let’s hang out and eat at the Star Wars food truck. It’ll be sweet!

“LOOK MA - I’m on PBS!” Honored to get to share my real-life North Dakota music on Prairie Public Television TONIGHT!
I forget - you guys kinda know me more as Art Max - BUT - I used to be just Music Max. I’ve been writing and singing songs since I was a young kiddo - traveled the country playing music with lots of bands - most of that time was playing with my band WILD HANDS - also had a little stint playing drums in an old timey country band. Music was my way to travel the country and meet amazingly creative people and live a bunch of fun life experiences (don’t ask me about the moonshine in the mountains of Johnson City, Tennessee)
Anyhoo - I got to play on Paste Magazines DAYTROTTER - played a sold out show at the Turf Club with Charlie Parr in St. Paul - Kinda headlined a festival with Everclear & The Cherry Popp’n Daddies - got to play on radio stations, TV shows BUT probably most of you know me from my 100 show Summer stints out in the Wild West in Medora.
Long story longer - I am a musician and sometimes I still get to play music. I wrote some new tunes and got to do a 30 minute live show on PBS - AND it airs TONIGHT (4/17/25) - I wrote some new stuff for the show, played some oldies but goodies - and you can watch me mumble about some stuff…not much of a talker on TV…it is what it is…I hope it’s charming!?

Play less music these days, but still love playing. Happy I get to share a little more with you all.

BOARD BOOKS ARE BACK!!! & so proud to announce The NoDak 1.2.3’s is now available in BOARD BOOK! Oh “4” CUTE!
For the little destructor wildling kiddos in your life - the NoDak ABC’s and 123’s are available in board book - these little brick books are built tough and can be ridden like a skateboard and chomped on for lunch and still hold up pretty good yah? Yah.
Couple of cool things - I can’t believe this is real - this is the 5th Edition of The NoDak ABC’s - which is a huge milestone for me - I was shooting for 2 editions maybe…so I’m just swimming in a bowl of happy knoephla soup over here and just so thankful for all you lovely people who support me and my art and my dreams.

Speaking of website - My online print shop will be up in a few weeks too! So you can buy all your favorite drawings of dancing bison and rock ‘n’ roll bear art prints very very soon!
Anyhoo - very proud today - I will keep making these books until every North Dakota kid owns one…and grown up NoDak kids too! Thanks again -

Plus - my lovely wife and kiddo made me the best valentine… I love shrimp. Shrimp is bugs…but also the key to my heart.
