Mission Project Participants Showcase Inclusive Employment at the FIFA World Cup 07/13/2026

There’s something pretty special about seeing our participants be part of an event as big as the FIFA World Cup! ⚽🌎

The Mission Project participants Dan and Ellen had the opportunity to welcome fans from around the world at matches right here in Kansas City, showing what inclusive employment looks like on a global stage.

As Dan put it:

"I love working at the World Cup games because of all the excitement! Everyone is so nice and happy. I love all the different team colors in the stadium and all the fun music, cheers and chants. The World Cup is a big deal and I’m so happy that I got to work at the games."

Seeing Dan and Ellen be part of an event this big is something worth celebrating. We couldn't be prouder of them and the many individuals with IDD who continue to break barriers, build confidence, and show the world what they can do!

How cool is this? πŸ’™

We're incredibly proud to see individuals with IDD helping welcome visitors from around the world to Kansas City during the World Cup!

We're especially excited because a couple of The Mission Project participants have also been part of the game day experience this summer. Seeing our participants represented on such a big stage is a great reminder of what inclusion, opportunity, and meaningful employment can look like.

We're proud of all the individuals helping showcase the welcoming spirit of Kansas City to the world. 🌎⚽

Celebrating Disability Pride Month with The Mission Project 07/06/2026

What is Disability Pride Month?

It's not about celebrating challenges or pretending disabilities don't come with obstacles. It's about recognizing the value, talents, and contributions of people with disabilities while celebrating a more inclusive world for everyone.

At The Mission Project, we're honored to work alongside incredible adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities every day. We see their growth, achievements, friendships, and independence, and we're proud to celebrate them this month and all year long.
