More than 70 Missoulians attended the MAS/Dementia Friendly Missoula screening of WALK WITH ME at the Roxy Theater last week! Prior to the screening, organizing members of the DFM coalition spoke as a part of a panel, including (pictured L to R) Dr. Richard Blank, speaking regarding his personal experience as a caregiver, MAS Care Management Program Manager Autumn Holm, and Missoula Public Health's Healthy Aging Coordinator Kristie Scheel. Terry Egan (not pictured) served as emcee for the panel.

Thanks to all of you who came out to experience the film's story of strength, resilience, and the humor of the human spirit. Special thanks to The Roxy Theater for creating a community space for sharing stories. And thanks to the DFM folks who are working to build an informed, supportive, and inclusive community for people living with dementia and those who care for them.

John Lily is the man whose work inspired one of the hardest poster taglines in the history of cinema (see the next image) and film series invites you to learn more about him at JOHN LILY AND THE EARTH COINCIDENCE CONTROL OFFICE, Monday, July 13th at 5:30pm & 7:30pm!

The daring experimenter Dr. John C. Lilly dedicated his life to radical self-investigation and unlocking the mysteries of consciousness and communication. “My body is my laboratory” was the motto, and his research on the language of dolphins and whales – as well as psychedelics and sensory deprivation – assured his own cult status in 20th-century pop culture as the basis for Ken Russell’s Altered States and Mike Nichols’s The Day of the Dolphin.

Directors Michael Almereyda and Courtney Stephens, along with narrator Chloë Sevigny, explore the life of a determined scientist and his experiments into the psychonautical unknown.
