In the middle of a burned forest, sweet bear grass pollen reminded me of abundant possibilities that can arise, even amidst memories of pain, loss, and trauma. Over time, these memories become less intrusive and occupy less space. In the natural order of things, the past nourishes the new, redirecting our attention to the magic of the present.
