Over the last several months we have met with several clients involved in accidents caused by uninsured drivers.

After reporting the claim to their insurance company they learned their auto insurance policy (as in basically all insurance policies) contained a “For Hire” exclusion which voids coverage under their policy if an accident occurs during a ride share of delivery event. In other words they cannot recover for the property damage or any injuries caused by the uninsured driver under their insurance policy.

If you (are anyone you know) works performing ride share or delivery you need to immediately contact your insurance carrier to add a “For Hire Rider” on your policy.
