Our partners at Amp Up Arts are launching Arts Education Connect, a new statewide initiative designed to bring communities together to strengthen arts education across Alabama.

Before the first Community Conversations begin, they're asking educators, parents, students, artists, community organizations, businesses, and local leaders to help shape the initiative by completing a short survey.

Whether you're involved in arts education or simply believe every child deserves access to creative learning opportunities, your voice matters.

Mobile Arts Council and Spring Hill College arts partnership have granted access to their beautiful space at Spring Hill College in their Murphy Fine Art building for Life Drawing/Painting Open Studio time. Our first open studio be led by Elsa Payton and will take place on July 25th, 2026 at 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

It is free to attend and registration is not required, however there is a suggested on-site donation of $5 or more to support the partnership.

What to bring:
-Your own substrates and drawing or painting materials (easels are provided).
-A snack to share (optional)

Elsa is excited for this opportunity for our local artists to practice, fellowship, learn, and collaborate, and hope that we can continue on a monthly basis!
