Public Works Project No. 3
WORDS! WORDS! WORDS!
Scenes From Shakespeare
All the world’s a stage!
Join Mobile Theatre Guild for a delightful afternoon of Shakespeare. Featuring scenes from Hamlet, Richard III, The Taming of the Shrew, Henry V, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, presented al fresco in downtown’s beautiful Cathedral Square, performed by many of the area’s favorite actors. So, bring a chair, spread a blanket, or lounge right on the grass, and help MTG celebrate the beauty of Mobile, the genius of Shakespeare, and the talents of our local stage & theater actors. Play on!

MTG is moving to our new digs and we're cleaning out the old gal and selling off what we're not taking. So, if you'd like a piece of memorabilia or just want to see if you can snag a bargain, come on down next weekend.
That's April 24th and 25th from 9am to 3pm.
See ya there! Cash only.
MTG will be cleaning out the theatre this weekend in preparation for our Clearing Out Yard Sale. We will have a dumpster.
There is lots of scrap lumber to get rid of and the costume shop needs to be purged.
If you can stop by to help, we would love to see you.
We will be at the theatre on Saturday and Sunday- April 17 & 18, from 9AM until...

We are honored to announce that Mobile Theatre Guild will be an official resident group at the Azalea City Center for the Arts! We are so happy to have such a rich piece of Mobile’s history join our Center. We will never forget their past and are so happy we can be a part of their future.

The End of an Era
And the Beginning of a New Chapter
The Mobile Theatre Guild regrets to announce that we will be closing the doors to our beloved little theatre permanently. The continuously increasing cost of upkeep and maintenance on the building has forced this difficult decision. Please know, however, that MTG will continue as a viable Mobile community theatre. In association with The Azalea City Center for the Arts, we plan to once again have a roof over our heads in the near future. In the meantime, we will perform at various venues around town.
Father Anthony Zoghby had the theatre at 14 N. Lafayette Street built in 1950 with the mission of bringing quality community theatre to Mobile by involving dedicated artists, technicians, craftspeople, and patrons. MTG has successfully accomplished this goal for over seven decades. Help us keep Father Zoghby’s mission, memory and legacy alive by supporting our new adventure!
On a related note, we will hold a yard sale on April 23, 24, and 25 to clear out the building. Furniture, prop items, equipment, fixtures, some costumes, and other stuff will be sold at ridiculously low prices just to get 70 years worth of accumulation out! Come by and get something cool or just to visit and say good bye to our beloved “Home Away from Home.”

"The theatre is a community, and audiences are an important part of it. If you're a theatre lover who's in a position to support those who usually make the shows go on Off and Off-Off Broadway, here are five easy ways to help."
TDF Stages: 5 Ways to Help Theatres and Artists During the COVID-19 Crisis How to support small nonprofit companies and independent artists at this challenging time
As president of the board of directors, I - David Doolittle - am sad to announce the Mobile Theater Guild will be closing beginning today and remain closed until at least April 6th. Our board has met and come to this decision that we believe is in the best interest of our patrons, cast and crew for upcoming shows based on information and recommendations from national, state and local authorities.
We’re still working out details as we move forward with the remainder of our season and see no reason why any production will be cancelled. Rescheduling is obviously necessary and as the new schedule unfolds, we will post details.
We offer our best wishes to all of our loyal patrons and guests and sincerely hope to see every one of you after any viral danger has passed.
