The Modesto Police Officer’s Association would like to send their deepest condolences to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on the passing of Sergeant Jason Whelen, who suffered a medical emergency while on duty on Tuesday, February 24th.

The MPOA’s thoughts are with Sergeant Whelen’s family, friends, and partners during this tragic time.

Last night, the MPOA joined up with Stanislaus County DA’s to support Juan Alanis for State Assembly. Juan has always been a supporter of Law Enforcement and lets our voice be heard at the Capitol.
The MPOA also came home with the win in the co****le tournament!

Congratulations to Dave Wallace on being named C.O.P.S. National President! Dave was a part of the MPOA for several years before retiring and always made it a point to never forget the fallen and their surviving families.

C.O.P.S. would like to congratulate the 2025-2026 C.O.P.S. National President, Dave Wallace! Dave is the Surviving Sibling of Stanislaus County (CA) Sheriff's Office Deputy Sheriff Dennis Wallace, EOW 11/13/2016. President-elect Wallace will be sworn in on Thursday, August 28th.
