Modesto City Firefighter's Local 1289

Thanks to Hayward Firefighters for inviting us out to their Steve Holt Memorial softball tournament, always a good time.

Congratulations to Brooklynne Miguel who was one of the two recipient’s of this year’s Steven Whitehead Scholarship given out through Local 1289.

Steven Whitehead was an engineer with the Modesto Fire Department who lost his life to job related lung cancer. Steve was very conscious about his work as an Engineer, he was always working on the Engine or Truck he was assigned, and he knew his equipment very well. He was always smiling and loved being at work. A very compassionate person on calls with the public. Steve embodied a culture of hard work and giving back.
