We're visiting Vandehelm Farms in Modesto, California, to sample the outstanding Bella Sun Peacotum, one of Ron Vandehelm's most popular varieties.
I also discuss why I believe more growers should market fruit by variety name, allowing customers to identify and return for their favorites year after year.
Finally, we take a look at one of the biggest challenges with Peacotums—pollination and fruit set—and why home garden varieties can perform differently depending on climate and growing region.

The farm is open today! Our hours are Monday through Saturday, open at 8am, last entry to field is at 2pm, we close at 3pm. Closed Sundays.
Our farm offers pick-your-own blueberries, cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, and strawberries. Come to the farm and fill a bucket with fresh fruit.
