Going on vacation or leaving town on business? Take advantage of Modesto Police Department’s FREE vacation house check service. Whether you’re away from your home on business, or enjoying a well-deserved vacation, the security of your residence while you’re gone is important to you and to us. With a free Vacation House Check, Modesto residents who are away from home between 5 and 30 days, can request for trained Modesto Police Department Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) to periodically patrol your residence looking for anything out of the ordinary. If something appears suspicious, our volunteers will work with police officers to investigate the activity further. If you have a school-aged student in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text "FOOD" to 877877. You will receive a message with a location closest to your home where the student can pick up the meal.

Text "COMIDA" for a reply in Spanish.
