We are loving joining in their 3rd Annual Bike n’ Trike event! Families and community kick off the day with community-wide activities from local businesses and non-profits and then head down the beautiful Virginia Corridor to Roosevelt Park - bright colors and balloons, galore! Anyone is welcome to join! Can’t join this year? There’s always next.

Our Mentor Appreciation Dinner was a special evening celebrating the mentors who make a difference in the lives of youth throughout our community.

The evening gave mentors a chance to relax, enjoy a meal, and reflect on another school year together. As photos filled the screen and a video highlighted moments from the year, stories and memories came rushing back. It was a powerful reminder of the connections built and the positive impact mentors have on the young people they support.

To each of our mentors, thank you for showing up, listening, encouraging, and caring. Your commitment helps youth gain confidence, work through challenges, and see new possibilities for their future.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

We know that mental health matters every day. Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death among youth ages 10–24, which is why early conversations and support can make a life-saving difference. Together, we can help break the stigma and ensure young people know they are not alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help for you. Visit our crisis hotline and resources for support: www.svcfs.org/crisishotlines/.

Join us at the Love Stanislaus County Kick Off Party at 7 AM in Downtown Modesto on April 25 as we come together with a shared purpose to make a meaningful difference in our community.

Every act of service, big or small, helps strengthen our neighborhoods and supports local children and families in lasting ways. There is still a need for volunteers to step into impactful projects like:
• Beautify Downtown Modesto
• Family Promise
• Tuolumne River Beautification
• Parent Resource Center
• We Love Our Community Social Workers

Each project is an opportunity to show up, give back, and be part of something that truly matters.

Be part of something bigger on April 25, 2026.

What a great time annual Toy Drive! 🧸
Modesto and surrounding communities were invited to participate not only in donating toys to students in our program, but throughout our agency. People were able to shop locally for Christmas gifts while bringing their fuzzy friends. Thank you to the K-9 unit for the fun live demo. Always a great event for families to attend - and for a great cause. Hope to see you next year!

A great turnout today at the first 🏃‍♂️we had the privilege of sharing about our school-based mentoring program and our family resource centers. Kids got to race while family members cheered. There were also free shoes for any youth who needed them! Big thank you to Detective Sean Dodge for planning another great community-centered event for kids and their families. Reading is power! It builds confidence and resiliency. We enjoy teaching our mentees to read, increasing their reading levels and inspiring them through story-telling. ⭐

What was the last book you read? What are your favorite kind of stories?

Ms. Natalie & Ms. Victoria repping our program Kirschen Elementary back to school night. We love meeting the families of the awesome kids we serve!

Our mentoring team had a wonderful time at Kirschen Elementary, connecting with parents, Modesto City Schools parent ambassadors, and the After School Education & Safety Program. We enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about how mentoring can open doors to brighter futures.

Just one hour a week can make a difference in a student's life. Apply here: svcfs.org/mentoring
