GO TO THE SHELTER 🐾

After the holiday weekend, different routines, different people in and our of the house, the yard, the gates, guests forget and sometimes an animal gets out.
It happens, not good, but it happens.

WHAT DO YOU DO???

You get your b***y up and out to the shelter(s) to look.

Don’t call and ask if your animal has been found, we have hundreds of animals to care for daily. Some animals look alike and descriptions vary.
And as a pet owner it is your responsibility to find your pet.
If your pet is micro chipped and is scanned and the correct contact information is in the microchip system or the RIACC system someone will call, however, we find so many times that that information is not current or updated. That too is the pet owners responsibility.

Technology is amazing, when it works..

Please be patient and kind when coming in. We understand how stressful it is to lose a pet, we take care of strays 365 days of the year. Our staff wants to get your pet reunited with you as much as you want to find your pet.

Take a printed photo to leave in one to post or print a bunch and distribute. Social media has been amazing reuniting animals with their owners.

Also, if your animal is not micro chipped and is brought to the shelter, it will normally be microchips with a $15 fee.

Also check out all of the other amazing ways to track or try and help find your pet. There are so many great pet friendly ideas out there.

REMEMBER, THE QUAD CITY AREA IS TWO STATES, SO MAKE SURE TO CHECK ALL THE SHELTERS ACROSS OUR AREA.

Sometimes people will pick up an animal and take it to their local shelter and not near the location where they picked the animal up.

Let’s help everyone try and get their animals reunited, it’s also important not to judge or to keep someone’s animal without trying to find an original owner

People asking about Stevie from all across the country. Was sooo excited to see all the comments and questions about Stevie.. and still he is here at the shelter.
PLEASE KEEP SHARING ALL OF OUR POSTS🙏🏼 🐾💗 WE NEED YOUR HELP. We still have 90 dogs in our care and so many long term residents like Stevie that need a committed forever!

And we will always take donations to care for the animals too!
