Now available at Waxhaw Town Hall: "Stewards of Change: Celebrating the Rosenwald Fund in North Carolina", a traveling exhibit on loan from the North Carolina African American Heritage Commission.

On display through March 6, 2026, the exhibit highlights the history of Rosenwald Schools in North Carolina and their role in expanding educational opportunities for rural Black children during the Jim Crow era. It also explores the partnership between Julius Rosenwald and Booker T. Washington and the lasting legacy of these historic schools.

Although Waxhaw’s Rosenwald School is no longer standing, its story remains an important part of our community’s history. The display is available for viewing during regular business hours at Town Hall through March 6.
