💙 Foster Fail Friday: Buddy 💙

Some dogs take weeks or months to find where they belong.

Buddy found it in the people who never planned on keeping him.

When Buddy arrived in foster care, he was simply supposed to be another dog passing through. He was there to decompress, be evaluated, and continue his journey until the perfect forever family came along.

What no one realized… was that he was already home.

This sweet, handsome 6-year-old silver Weimaraner quietly worked his way into the hearts of Katherine and her family. He became part of their morning routine, their evening walks, their beach adventures, their family hugs, and before long, their everyday life just wouldn’t feel complete without him.

The children who patiently fed him each day became “his kids.” The house he cautiously explored became his home. The people he once watched with uncertainty became his family.

Rescue is never about finding the first home.

It’s about finding the right one.

Sometimes that home has been waiting all along… wearing the title of “foster.”

Buddy came into rescue hoping for a second chance. Instead, he found something even better… a family who looked at him and realized they couldn’t imagine saying goodbye.

There is no greater compliment to a foster family than a foster fail. It means a dog who once needed saving found a place where he is loved exactly as he is.

Congratulations to Katherine and her family on officially making Buddy a permanent member of your family. Thank you for opening your hearts, giving him the time to decompress, believing in him, and showing him what forever feels like.

Happy Foster Fail Friday, Buddy.

You were never just passing through. You were home all along. 💙🐾

🐾 Meet Josie! 🐾

Josie is a beautiful 2-year-old spayed female Weimaraner/Great Pyrenees mix (approximately 50/50) weighing 85 pounds. Thanks to her Weimaraner genetics, she sports a striking black coat that turns heads wherever she goes. Josie has been with her family since birth and is now searching for a home better suited to her needs.

Josie is everything people love about a Weimaraner. She is affectionate, intelligent, attentive, and happiest when she is near her people. She enjoys learning, performing tricks for treats, playing with toys, and being involved in whatever her family is doing. While she enjoys spending time outdoors, her owner believes she would thrive as an indoor companion who can be part of everyday family life.

Josie is housebroken, crate trained, and current on vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and receives monthly heartworm prevention. She has no known health issues and is not currently on any medications.

She gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and has done well with cats. She has met children in public settings and has been friendly, though she has not lived directly with children. Her only significant issue is a strong prey drive toward poultry, making a home with chickens or other free-ranging birds unsuitable. This is the primary reason she is being rehomed.

Josie enjoys running and playing with other dogs, chewing on durable toys, carrying around empty water bottles, going for walks, and showing off her tricks, including sit, shake, lay down, and speak. She is food motivated and enjoys earning treats for good behavior.

Her ideal home would be with someone who wants a loyal companion to share life with. She would love an active family that enjoys walks, hikes, road trips, and taking their dog along for adventures. Another playful large dog would be a bonus, but the most important thing to Josie is having people who want her close by.

If you think Josie might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact Jackie directly.
