For this segment, we interviewed Lmarie Brown right before a KNOE Juneteenth news highlight.
She is a local community activist, a Juneteenth Month Monroe Community Engagement Partner, and a founding member of the United Minds Of Joint Action Association (UMOJA).
The Umoja organization has been celebrating Juneteenth on the southside of Monroe, LA and hosting the original Juneteenth Parade for 12 years.
Today’s 12th Annual parade kicked off at 10am @ Wossman High School and will stop at the Charles Johnson Childrens Park (3313 Bernstein Park Dr, Monroe, LA) to commence BootNik!
