Almost Like You

Brandy’s house is usually known as The Fun House. Zoomies, wrestling matches, toy theft, and complete chaos are normally on the daily schedule. 😂

Today? Mother Nature canceled the program.

Five minutes outside in this heat and the unanimous decision was, “Absolutely not.”

It turned into a race back inside, and suddenly the marble fireplace became prime real estate. 🥵❄️

Last one to the cool floor is a rotten egg!

Within seconds everyone was sprawled out on the marble, panting, sharing toys, and looking at me like, “Ma’am… the outdoors has officially been revoked until further notice.”

Sometimes even the biggest goofballs know when it’s time to trade zoomies for air conditioning. Stay cool out there, friends, and don’t underestimate this heat. Your dogs will thank you! 💙🐾

Chino said, “It is way too hot to be outside today,” and judging by the looks on everyone’s faces, I think he has a unanimous agreement from his friends. 🥵

Today’s walks were all about finding the shade. Chino claimed the coolest spot under the trees while the rest of the gang tried their best to survive the North Carolina sauna. Nobody was interested in setting any speed records today. It was a “walk a little, pant a lot, and get back to the AC” kind of morning.

Don’t forget the water, folks. Take plenty of shade breaks, keep walks short during the hottest part of the day, and remember that if your dog says they’re done, listen to them. This heat is no joke. Stay cool! ☀️💧🐾

Miss Ivy spent a solid five minutes deciding whether the stairs were truly worth the effort today. Apparently, gravity was personally offending her. But the second she spotted Luca and Foster Dennis waiting outside, the royal protest was officially over. Suddenly, those stairs weren’t such a big deal after all.

Luca joined us because we’ve all learned the hard way that if he doesn’t get at least one day a week with his best friends, he turns into a tiny, furry agent of chaos at home. Socialization isn’t optional for him… it’s a public safety requirement. 🤣

And today was Foster Dennis’ last adventure with the HOWA crew before heading back to his regularly scheduled foster home. He was only vacationing with us while his foster family was away, and we were more than happy to borrow this sweet, goofy boy for a few days. Safe travels, Dennis! Your foster family has definitely been counting down the days until they got their favorite slobber machine back. ❤️🐾

Miss Ivy’s Official Statement:
“I have reviewed today’s itinerary and would like to file a formal complaint. I specifically requested the Five Second Potty Break Package, not the Actual Walk With Cardio package. This level of betrayal is unacceptable.”

The dramatic march away from her bed, the sighs, the sad eyes, and the slow-motion shuffle were all performed in hopes that I’d feel guilty enough to cancel the walk.

Plot twist… I didn’t. 😂💜🐾
