1817 CrossFit

Our last workout at this space, but not our last workout together!

If you couldn’t make it today, here is my speech (I stayed mostly on script; besides all the crying):

I have been thinking a lot about what to say, but there truly aren’t the right words that can express the amount of gratitude I have for all of you and for every person that has walked into 1817 over the last 5 years.

These 4 walls make this building a place where we can all work out, but all of you have made this place a home. I have memories here that I will cherish for a lifetime.

Just a few examples include:
Lifelong friendships
Co****le tournaments
Babies being born
Kids playing together
Grueling workouts & Camaraderie
Even a marriage proposal
And so many more than I know we will talk about for a long time.

I want to give a special thanks to my parents for supporting me and allowing me to always chase my dreams. Thanks to Ashley T, Tom and Ashley, Liz, and even Eric for all their time coaching classes.

And thank you to all of you. Thank you all for supporting me when this gym first started and thank you all for supporting me when I made this hard decision to shut down.

Now, let’s go out with a bang and get this Murph started!

After 5 years of wonderful memories, I announce with a heavy heart that 1817 CrossFit’s last day of operations will be on May 27, 2024.

It was my biggest dream to be able to own a CrossFit gym and I truly cannot believe that my dream came true. The people at 1817 haven’t just been supportive, but they have been my family. The gratefulness I have for all of you can’t even be put into words. 1817 CrossFit isn’t a building, it’s a group of incredible people with connections that are invaluable. I love you all dearly.

Unfortunately, between running classes 6 days a week and having another full time job, I have found that I haven’t had much time for me; including spending time with my family and closest friends.

I am thankful to have had the opportunity to fulfill this dream and it’s now time for me to embark on new journeys.

With that being said, on May 27th, I will end this amazing and unforgettable chapter in my life and start a new one.
